Iraq. There are many reasons, but we only need one. Bush lied. He invaded a country with the mandate of his own lies. There was no provocation. There was no evidence. The justification was fabricated. The Administration had planned to take Iraq prior to 9/11. Bush wanted to avenge his father, he wanted his own war, and he wanted a US whorehouse franchise in the Middle East, to seduce the oil trade.
He was wrong.
It was wrong on the first day of bombing, and it is wrong now. It is a
shame that the UN is such a US lapdog, so as to not apply severe sanctions to
the US for the invasion of Iraq. To invade another country, to go against the UN, to go against the majority of our allies, to use 9/11 as justificaton, to fabricate intelligence, to by-pass due diligence, to use the guise of democracy, to discount the lessons of history, to assume superiority over the teachings of his own bible, and to ignore the wisdom of our forefathers is not only irresponsible, but also impeachable. George W. Bush is fortunate to live in a country that is more tolerant than his own practices.
This is the responsibility of, and there-in lies the fault of, George W. Bush alone. He will place blame on Congress, the CIA, the IAEA, the UN, Britan Intelligence, even Ted Kennedy and the Democrats! All, while he refuses to hold Rumsfeld, Tenant, Ashcroft, Cheney or anyone else accountable. If he is handing our Medals of Freedom to his top advisors, then the disaster that is this war sits squarely on his shoulders. This is his downfall. This is his admission of guilt. He is the The Commander in Chief. This is his decision alone. If he were to hold his flunkies accountable, he knows that he alone would be left in the lineup for history to blame. He is not that strong.
He is soley responsible, and he alone must pay.
