To engage a War  - on Terror,

The War on Terror is a Sham.
There is no war. There never was. Declaring war was a PR move. By declaring war, the Bushies accomplish their mission of scaring the  American people into submission, thereby, getting carte blanche to rape, pillage and burn - nationally and internationally, and all with the People's blessing. By labeling the effort as War, any internal questioning could be twarted by the additional label "unpatrioitic". And it worked, for about a week. Their projected goal was to "unify" America and the world. But as we quickly found out, it was really to draw a line in the sand, literally.

"You're either with us or against us". This is a bad t-shirt, not international policy for the greatest nation the world has ever known.
No one respects that kind of rhetoric, except the blowhard who's saying it, and the bobble-head base who are looking for a bumper sticker for their camouflage Jeep. Unfortunately, all this says is, "I'm not listening to you, and I don't care what you think". That only results in division, hate and conflict, with plenty of room for error.

Terrorism is fear, and Osama Bin Laden succeeded in bringing fear to the population. George Bush clumsily abided. He instructed America to go about our business, and not change our habits, while he set out to disrupt everything - and not for the better. Our libraries monitored, our phones tapped, our property no longer our own, our right to fair trial denied, our right to safe incarceration denied. Is that safety?  America has become fearful of how George Bush is destoying our Country. Who is the terrorist, who is the enemy?

Wasn't America strong enough to quash some nutcase in a hole in Afghanistan? Had that been our objective, we would have achieved it. Instead, the objective was to retain power that we do not own, and forcibly maintain control over what is not ours. The
war on terror can never end, and will only set America on a course of self-ruin. Even success will only temporary. America is the only one at war, and our enemy is George Bush.
